Odisha has as many as 62 tribes that have diverse living styles. It is seen that the folk women of most tribes wear traditional ornaments made of brass / bell metal / silver / white metals crafted by a special group of craftsmen found mainly in the districts of Rayagada, Phulbani, Gajapati, Koraput, Nawarangpur & Dhenkanal.
The significance of this community is they make varieties of items according to each ethnic group ‘s necessity, design, and motif. Therefore their things are unique to the culture and to the society. With design interference the artisan may give the modern society a wide range of fashion jewellery. Such jewellery has potential for sale.
